I am about to begin my first enlistment in the Navy, and heard it was difficult to receive CTO certification during your first enlistment. I’m 23 and will be entering while I’m 24, which means when I get out of the Navy after my 5-year contract, I’ll only have 2 years to get an FAA job if I’m certified.

How hard is it to get the certification? Are certain duty stations better to request if you wish to receive such certification?
